Urgotul Ag/Silver is a sterile non-occlusive, non-adhesive, antibacterial lipido-colloid contact layer with Lipido-Colloid Technology Healing Matrix; to provide a nurturing environment for wound healing.
- Composition
- UrgoTul Ag/Silver is a lipido-colloid dressing made of a polyester mesh impregnated with hydrocolloid particles (carboxymethylcellulose), vaseline particles and silver salts.
- Mode of Action
- The silver salts provide a bactericidal effect on most of the microorganisms involved in secondary infection
- In contact with wound exudate, the hydrocolloid particles from UrgoTul Ag/Silver interact with the petroleum jelly component, to form a lipido-colloid gel creating a moist environment favourable to the healing process.
- The silver ions are maintained in this lipido-colloid gel, providing an antibacterial activity on contact with the wound only.
- Fatty in its chemical composition, without being greasy to the touch, UrgoTul Ag/Silver does not adhere to the wound or to the surrounding skin. Removal of the dressing is painless and atraumatic for the wound
- Indication

UrgoTul Ag/Silver is indicated for local treatment of low to moderate exuding acute wounds (burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds…) and chronic wounds (leg ulcers, pressure ulcers…) at risks/with signs of local infection
- Flexible and conformable, UrgoTul Ag/Silver is especially suitable for wounds located in awkward areas.
- Cautions and Warnings
- UrgoTul Ag/Silver adheres to latex surgical gloves; therefore, it is recommended to moisten the gloves with normal saline to facilitate handling of the dressing.
- Single-use sterile individual packaging: re-using a single use dressing may lead to risks of infection.
- Do not re-sterilise the dressing.
